What is ELACTA INTERNATIONAL – CONNECT & LEARN?

ELACTA INTERNATIONAL – CONNECT & LEARN is a very special continuing education event for ELACTA members (and those who want to become members), where IBCLC colleagues from all over Europe and beyond meet to learn from and with each other.

No external speakers are invited to this event; rather, the program is created from the contributions submitted by the participating IBCLCs. Experienced colleagues have the opportunity to share tried presentations or workshops with colleagues from other countries. Younger colleagues may want to test their presentation skills in this small but supportive environment. And most of us certainly have interesting case reports or professional topics we’d like to discuss with other IBCLCs. Presenters pay a slightly reduced registration fee.
In recent years, this has consistently resulted in a very diverse program with approximately 10–14 continuing education hours.

The main language of the event is English. If enough participants register in another language (e.g., German or Italian), program sessions in that language are also possible.

Do I receive CERPs for the event?

To maintain the spontaneous nature of this event, NO CERPs are applied for in advance with IBLCE®. However, we ensure that all continuing education hours are accurately documented so that participation is recognized for the IBCLC recertification in the form of “individual CERPs.” All participants will receive a confirmation of attendance via email a few days after the event.

Get to know the country and its people

While the mornings are dedicated to professional exchange, we will explore Grado and its surroundings in the afternoons. Grado, also known as “the sunny island,” is a popular Italian seaside resort on the upper Adriatic. A wide selection of Italian boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants with excellent cuisine invites you to stroll and explore.

Grado was once the port of ancient Aquileia, one of the most important Roman cities and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to the valuable relics of the past, we would also like to explore the nature reserves and the unique lagoon landscape around Grado.

Far away from the everyday stress, enjoying good Italian food and drink, you will have the opportunity to meet colleagues from other countries, exchange experiences, and build valuable networks.
